A Simple Formula You Can Use To Sell Lots of Anything
On Wednesday 5th April 2006 we made “…and death came third!” by Peter Roper and Andy Lopata an “instant best-seller” using the power of networking and good old fashioned “ethical bribery!”
Using our plan, the book stormed onto Amazon.co.uk’s Hot 100 (number 83) by 8.20am and then rocketed to the top 10 (achieving number 2) by noon (a spot it kept for well over 24 hours after).
In all we sold over 2,000 books in a single day, making more than 30,000 in sales. That’s in just ONE DAY!
Even if you’re not an author or don’t have any books yourself – there’s nothing preventing you from using the very same approach to:
- Fill Your Next Course Up With Delegates
- Sell A Pile of Your Audio Products, eBooks or Anything Else
- Attract A Stream of New and Eager Clients
- Launch Any New Product or Service with a Bang
Here’s our plan in a nutshell – how could you use this formula too?
- Have a “good-enough” product or service
That’s right – “good enough!” Now I’m not suggesting that you can sell any old junk using this system – in our case we believed and the feedback supports – that the book we sold was first-class. But if you keep on delaying in an effort to get things “just perfect” before you get into action – chances are you’ll have a great product that has cost you more than it’s made you. So, don’t let perfection prevent you from taking action. Good enough is good enough. - Get a pile of great endorsements from respected, well known, authorities
Do you want to know the secret to getting great endorsements? Just ask. It surprises me how many people get scared about approaching the “big names” for their opinion or a comment on their product and chicken out – or give in if they don’t hear back straight away. The key is to ask and ask again until you get a definite yes or no. Of course – it helps if you know how to construct your approach message (but we save that for the full book) - Enlist the help of a handful of connectors and sneezers with a big overall readership
To do this you need to decide who you’d like to reach and how many people you’d like to reach. Then do some research (the web is great for this) and make a list of all the people you can who regularly communicate with your target market and who have big lists. Chances are that many of the people who provided endorsements will be just right too. Then – it’s that killer secret technique again – just ask. Approach all the people you’d like to help you and ask for their help. Again, having a well crafted message for this helps (see the full book) and it’s important that you make it clear “what’s in it for them” for giving up a little of their time to help you. Ask your helpers how many people they know and keep count. Keep asking people until the number of people you were aiming for is reached. Let’s say for arguments sake you want to send out to 100,000 email addresses. That means you need to find 20 people with 5,000 people on their list or – well you get the idea (it’s not many) - Source and prepare HUGE value bonuses – that add value to your primary offer
Now you should aim to create a few valuable bonuses – ebooks, special reports, audios and the like – yourself but for the rest of them you can simply ask a selection of your helpers if they’d like to share a FREEBIE and get their business featured prominently to the list of 100,000 people you’re going to approach with the campaign. - Build a great online landing page that sells your product, course or service
The key here is to keep it simple. Know your MWR (Most Wanted Response) and make doing it easy. Give all the praise you collected a priority. The page at www.deathcamethird.com doesn’t look like it did on the launch day (all the bonuses are now gone) but it will give you a starting point. Again for a step-by-step guide to creating the landing page you’ll need the full book. You’ll also need to ensure you have a method for enabling people to verify their purchase and for giving access to the bonuses. - Get all your helpers to send a sales message to their lists within a set time period
Finally – on the day of the launch (whether your campaign is going to last a day or a week) get all of your helpers to send your message (telling their list about your product andRelated posts:
